Tissue Expression

This page allows you to determine the tissue expression of the IRGs in your submitted gene list in 79 human normal tissues, and 61 normal mouse tissues. This will produce a heat-map of the expression values represented by variation in the two colours red and blue. This will allow you to visualize the clustering of gene expression values in particular tissues. To generate the heat map submit a Ensembl gene id or a list of gene id's into the search field. Then select the species (i.e. either human or mouse) in which you want to visualize the expression of the submitted genes, and press submit.

An example of the output file in which you would obtain is:

The top row of the heat map indicates the type of tissue. And the last column indicates the Ensembl id, the HUGO/HGNC gene symbols, and the Affymetrix probe id, of the submitted genes. The expression of each gene in the particular tissue is indicated by a colour and it intensity. Red indicates that the input gene is up-regulated in its tissue, while Blue indicates that the input gene is down-regulated in the specific tissue, with variation between intensities of these colours indicating the level of expression of the gene. Stronger the intensity of a colour the greater the expression.
